Description:
Building on the success of the AT-1000Pro, LDG Electronics has refined and
expanded its flagship 1KW tuner. The new AT-1000ProII keeps many of the
same features of the previous model, but simplifies the operation. With the
two position antenna switch there are 2,000 memories that store tuning
parameters for almost instantaneous memory recall whenever you transmit on
or near a frequency you’ve used before. Just key and it tunes! The AT-
1000ProII will operate at any power level between 5 and 1,000 watts peak RF
input.

The AT-1000ProII has a large, easy to read bargraph with two selectable scale
ranges (100 and 1,000 watts) as well as SWR meter. The AT-1000ProII will
interface with many popular transceivers, enabling their TUNE button to
control the AT-1000ProII’s operation. Dedicated control buttons allow you to
fine-tune capacitance and inductance on those rare occasions when the AT-
1000ProII can’t find a perfect match by itself.

The AT-1000ProII will tune from 1.8 to 54.0 MHz continuously, and will
match an amazing range of antennas, from Yagis and dipoles to inverted-Vs
and slopers; virtually any coax-fed antenna from 6 to 1000 ohms impedance
(16 – 150 ohms on 6 meters). Tuning time is usually under 10 seconds. If
you’re transmitting near a frequency with stored tuning parameters, it will set
those parameters in under 0.2 seconds. Longwires or antennas fed with
ladder line require an external balun.

Could be better Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This is my second LDG ATU, the first was the AT-600 Pro II which I was happy with until I cooked it with 200 watts, digital mode by accident. Fixed it but cooked it again with a very long tune cycle.
My second is the AT-1000 Pro II, not yet cooked but it might end up with an Axe in it shortly instead. Can't fault LDG for offering help and sending parts when asked but the tuners can't take much power, and yes we are still limited to 400 watts in VK. I'm not happy with it's SWR readings, my radio says 1.5 SWR and the internal tuner will tune it perfectly, but the LDG is happy with 2:1 and I'm unable to bring it lower despite using the Function buttons for setting levels. The tuner even takes the 1.5 SWR and increases it to 3:1 and says there you go use that. Obviously with this tuner I can't use my AMP as the higher the power out as the SWR then reflects more back and makes the amp trip out. The LDG crew sent me a service sheet so I will pull it apart and see if I can rectify the issue, otherwise it gets the AXE. Will edit this if I get a resolution.

Relays are not upto the task. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It's a very good tuner but not good enough to sustain QRO.
My Acom1010 outputting 800W into the G5RV was able to make the relays go bad.
They really need to install bigger relays for high SWR-antenna's.
This is the second time the G5RV is able to make the LDG Autotuner go bad, the first was the KT-100 behind the Kenwood TS-590S not able to sustain 100W SSB output.

It's a very good and fast tuner, but the power-handling is highly overrated.
I hope they install bigger relays as these are too light.

Another issue is the tuner doesn't go into standby when the power is removed, as such it needs to be powered for RX else there is no signal.
When running an websdr with the same antenna, this is not good.

I would rate this tuner 500W at best, certainly not 1000.

Edit: Sold it to a friend, who send it in for repairs, all of a sudden it needed modification.
After the modification it works like a charm for him. Thank you LDG for the great support you gave me when I told you there where problems. Took 2.5 years for you to find the issue. As such I reduce stars.

Great auto-tuner Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have had this AT-1000PROII for over 5 years. It does a great job. Relays are a little loud but the tuner does the job. Small company but the customer service from Mark is excellent. I would highly recommend.

Great Match for 43 ft Vertical Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Easy set up with Icom cable (not included, recommend you get the longer one). After tune ups on commonly used freqs (sounds like five marbles stirred in a bucket) the tuner memorizes the freq and when you return to it, these's just a quiet "click" and the tuner is ready on that freq. I wish the power bar graph had more detail, but for daily operating it works fine. A great tuner at a reasonable price for something that competently handles a KW (500 watts on digital modes).

LDG 600 PRO II and AT 100 PRO II Time Owned: more than 12 months.
NOTE. Different LDG models here. But FWIW. I use the 600 PRO II at home. It feeds 55 ft of coax to an end balun fed wire 33 ft long and hanging 6" below the ridge pole in my attic. 14 ft high. On digital I run low power. On CW and SSB I run an amp with medium power. WORKS VERY WELL. Tunes 80 to 6 meters down to below 1.3 to 1 on all bands. Obviously 80 and 60 meters I only do so/so. But that's the wire not the tuner. The tuner does allow me to use those bands. When portable I use the 100 PRO II with my IC-705. They love each other. I use an end balun fed long wire hung however I can. Or hamstick dipoles on a painter's pole. The tuner allows me to work whatever frequencies I like on 40 thru 6 meters. Obviously a low short antenna and QRP I don't do much on 60 or 80 meters. But that's the antenna not the tuner. A feature that's great on the 100 PRO is that it can easily be either 12.5 watts or 125 watts full scale. That makes the SWR bar graph very compatible with QRP operation -- or the tuner fine for a barefoot 100 watt rig. I have a LOT of hours on each of them during several years and zero problems or complaints. Several others have seen mine in use and gotten one for themselves.

Hello Ham friends, Please note I've two call signs (FMWA and K3EK).

I'd like to share my experience with LDG tuners.
In my USA station I had two tuners, one AT-1000 Pro II and one AT-1000 Pro. The first was 4 years old, the second more then 10 years.
The Pro II started having troubles tuning after having worked flawlessly for the past 4 years. The other tuner (1000 Pro) did not manage the short circuit I had in my transistor amplifier and became a real brick. Both tuners were never driven with more than 350 W. So I decided to send both tuners to LDG for repair. This was on a Monday morning via USPS (my US QTH is in MD close to LDG HQ).
On Thursday of the same week I received an email from LDG saying that : the 1000 Pro II had been repaired and newly calibrated. Instead of repairing the 1000 Pro which according to the technician had burst into flames when tested, they just would send a new Pro II. All free of charge ! On Friday morning (of the same week !) I received the two tuners by UPS. I could not believe such a service still exited on this earth !
The tuners work nicely, even if you have to be a bit careful with impedance. Especially the 1000 Pro II does not like very much load mismatches. If your amplifier shows an input impedance a bit too far from 50 Ohm the tuner refuses to work correctly. It seems to be more sensitive to this problem than the 1000 Pro. It shows wrong SWR values and/or output power.

All in all my experience with LDG is very positive even, if the tuners seem to be a bit sensitive to rough treatment or mismatches.
Finally I just wanted to express my deepest thanks to this company for their outstanding service policy.

A bit disappointed Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Bought this AT from Martin Lynch 3 months ago.
I am a bit disappointed due to the below issues:

- First of all when I am in bypass mode the SWR meter gives complete wrong readings, when I have 1.1:1 SWR the LDG in bypass can show 3+ SWR.
- Most of the time it tunes as low as 1.5 or 1.4 and I constantly needs to manually tune to go down to 1.1:1 and then save in memory (manually as well of course)
- When I am in automatic mode (the AAT tune directly while RF power is sent to it) and I switch to bypass, when I remove the bypass mode I would expect the AT to still be in automatic mode but it is not, thus not only I have to remove the bypass mode but have to reactivate the auto tune mode.

For the price I must say I am a bit disappointed and thinking of taking another AT.

Located in Europe. I bought the tuner from WIMO Germany (very professional and kind sellers).
If i will rate it, i definately rate it 10/10.
Beautiful professional tuner. Very good package from the company who sent it.
I am coming from manual qro tuner. (what a pain tuning and changing bands !!)
I keyed 700 watts cw (4x811 tube amp) for the whole day. It was AMAAAAZING !! Just one key at the station, and log it.
Changing bands and tuning in milliseconds. CRAZY !!
It tunes all my antennas, dipoles, yagi 3 element, with no hesitation. maximum swr was 1.4/1 but normally was at 1/1. No problems at all.
The only problem is that i can not connect it with my Yaesu FTDX 1200 for full auto tuning, but i solved the problem by myself. Check the following video.

LDG AT1000 pro Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own both the AT 1000 and the IC 100, both have performed perfectly.
The At 1000 pro was purchased to be used with my TS2000 and a 811 amp into a G5RV, after being off the air for 3 plus years and some station power issues the At1000 development some issues. Contacted LDG and explained the issue and while on the phone with them they heard the problem. They requested I ship back to them for repair. They repaired the At1000 at no charge and shipped back to me, it has worked perfectly since, which has been just over a year ago now.
It is now inline with my IC7300 and tunes without an issue on voice, on Ft8 I manually tone each band, this process is faster for me when band hopping.
It is the best bang for the bucks in my opinion.

works well with my Acom-1010 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was turned off with the Leds but find its not a problem the Tuner works well, its replacing a MFJ-998 that is being repaired, Pros tunes my 80 thru 6 meter Windom well and also my 80 meter bazooka where needed. does 6 meters just fine. have not had a problem getting it to tune flat and if you turn off the radio and the tuner and bring it back up no need to retune it will start off where you left it
the only cons I have is that it has no meter and with my IC-7300 you have to press the tune button then switch to CW or RTTY and key the mic to start the tune, other then that, I am happy with it so far will check back after I get my MFJ-998 back from the shop but I am leaning towards keeping this tuner in place.
